Visiting Berastagi

by - 7:54 PM

Hello!

I know this is a very late post, i've keeping this as a draft for about 2 weeks or more and i don't have the urge to continue it though, but i'm hella bored right now sooo yeah let's get into my post! *pretend to be those youtube star lol

In my semester break me and my family went to Berastagi, a small city that located near two mountains which is in the area of highlands. And yeah it has a cool weather and almost raining when the night comes which is a good place to escape from the chaos of my life and take a deep breath because the air is really fresh and the scene is so wonderful. It only takes like 2 hours from my city and it's pretty good to think you could go to a good place without taking a long ride.

Anyway i got my exam's result on Friday and it wasn't bad, i got the 3rd place in my class so my mom didn't impound my phone. Yay!

So we left home around 9.30 in the morning but first we visited my sister friend's house for something that i didn't know, then after that we went to the city and arrived around 12 pm or whatsoever and we ate lunch then we went to check in to the hotel. We took some rest, before going down behind the hotel because they have a gorgeous view and it's a good place to take some photos like we did lol. My mom loves to take photos and selfies so she was getting excited about it.

We went behind the hotel that has a large field that was full of beautiful flowers and huge trees so the scenery is totally amazing. The sun was not too bright and there was lots of breeze which was so calmly and made the atmosphere soo peaceful. It was really good, i could stay there all day just to feel the wind and the scenery. The place is quiet too there were only few people in that field so seriously this is a good place to brighten up your mind and freshen it and also to release all of your problems.

Look at those spruce trees + clear blue sky! It was so breathtaking seriously

Also there was one point that full of this carved stones and it looks so unique and artistic for me, also this is a great photoshoot spot!

After taking load of photos, we went back to the hotel room because it was about to raining that moment. My parents fell asleep and my sisters watched the TV while me taking a lot of selfies because why not?

When the night comes we ate our dinner in the food stalls on the sidewalk that only open in night time. They serves various food and i chose satay Padang, and yes it was so delicious. After finish it we went back to the hotel and stayed for a while in the lobby because we wanted to use the wifi. Sadly the connection can't be reached on the hotel rooms, it only exist in the hotel lobby so that's the reason why.

The next day we went to a place called "Gundaling Farm". My sister said it was a field where we could see the scenery of Sinabung Mountain clearly. She hasn't been on that actually but she heard it from her friend. And we went to the place but ... it was less than i expected. I am so disappointed. It was not a field, like seriously i don't even know what it would be called. There was a tortuous path that surround a small hill, i'm not sure if it's a hill though, it's so complicated to explain it. There were lots of people walked in the side of street so it really disturbing the car that want to pass it. Also there were loads of small booths that sell various souvenirs too in the left so it straiten our way. It was really rough and noisy and we had a trouble to find a parking lot because it was already full but finally we found it. After that we climb a makeshift stairs out from a wood that was not too long to reach that 'small hill'. It was lot of people, includes families, children, teenages, everything and most of them sit with their relatives on a mat that directing to the Sinabung Mountain but trust me you only can see the view clearly in a few spots so it was really wasting time to sit there without actually see the view. Also there were lots of people so i bet you can't enjoying it. I was so annoyed because there were few people that offer us to lent their mats. Oh c'mon sir i won't sit there around those hundred people that were so noisy and the situation was so ... ugh.

We reached the spot where you can see the mountain clearly but sadly it was a lot of people. And one thing that annoyed me is there were a lot of 'photographers' (if you know what kind of photographer i mean) that (again) offer their service to take photos of us in a good positions so the  mountain could be so visible and they will give the actual photos to us. But nah my dad refuse them though they asked it so many times and then we get really annoyed so we quickly leave the place.

I'm actually really really really disappointed. It was so waste of time and money. The mountain itself doesn't look so beautiful, instead is so ugly because of the lava that burn the slope so it was all grey, no trees in there.

You can see it there were bunch of stones, sand, and the other volcanic things in the mountain because of the eruption few months ago.

In the lunch time we went check out and go to the next hotel that was not too far away. It was full of people because the hotel has an amusement park so lots of families visit this hotel. The view it's great too but it's not too large. After we get in to the hotel room we didn't do much thing, just relaxing ourselves until we went out for dinner.

The next day we ate breakfast and my family went exploring the hotel to take photos again. I honestly want to going to the amusement park but we didn't have too much time to go there. You can't play in the amusement park just for 2 hours, right? So after taking photos we were packing up our things and stuff and about 11 o'clock we went check out and going back to our city. On the way to there we visit Panatapan, it was place to eat roasted corn or any food (but it's not a restaurant or cafe) also hot drinks while looking at the view of the mountain surroundings but we just bought the corns and continue our way.

Sooo that's my holiday experience. Nothing special in that but i was enjoying it. I wish we could stay for another couple days but my dad and sisters have to go for work again. But that's okay though.

See you on my next post. Bye!
